Hipster's Powerglide Iron Pro Brake Checkball Location

Modified on Thu, Jun 2, 2016 at 4:58 PM

A very common question regarding the iron Powerglide transbrake is the location of the checkball. This article will walk you through the proper location and function of the checkball.

This solution only applies to Hipster's Powerglide Iron Pro Brake (P/N: 12748 or PROPG).

Your Hipster PG Pro Brake will be shipped with the checkball already installed in the valvebody and greased in place.

DO NOT REMOVE THE CHECKBALL!

Checkball location and size is noted below in Figure 1. The checkball is 1/4" steel type ball.

Without the checkball in the proper location, the transbrake will not hold and reverse may slip.
